DAY 1 REPLAY
Watch Time: 1 hour, 5 minutes
Summit Skills Challenge – Day 1: Cast On & Knit in the Round
Ready to cast on your Promenade Pouch? In this first Summit Skills Challenge session, we're tackling two foundational techniques that will serve you well beyond this project!
First, we'll learn the Turkish Cast-On – a seamless, invisible start that's perfect for projects that need a closed bottom, and one you'll reach for again and again once you know it.
Then we'll explore 3 ways to knit a small circumference in the round so you can find the method that works best for your hands, your needles, and your knitting style.
Whether you're brand new to these techniques or just looking to add more tools to your knitting toolkit, this session is a great place to start. Grab your supplies and come knit with us!
DAY 2 REPLAY
Watch Time: 1 hour, 11 minutes
Summit Skills Challenge – Day 2: Shadow Wrap Short Rows + I-Cord
Ready to keep building your Promenade Pouch? In this second Summit Skills Challenge session, we're tackling two techniques that sound intimidating but are so much more approachable than you might think!
First, we'll work through Shadow Wrap Short Rows — a clever method for shaping your knitting without leaving holes or gaps. Once you see how they work, you'll wonder why you were ever nervous about short rows in the first place!
Then we'll add an I-Cord strap — a simple, satisfying technique that gives your pouch a polished, professional finish and one you'll find yourself using on all kinds of projects going forward.
Whether you're tackling short rows for the first time or just looking to add a new finishing technique to your toolkit, this session will walk you through every step.
Grab your Promenade Pouch and let's keep going!
DAY 3 REPLAY
Watch Time: 1 hour, 7 minutes
Summit Skills Challenge – Day 3: Personalizing Your Promenade Pouch
It's the final session of the Summit Skills Challenge, and this is the one where your Promenade Pouch really becomes yours!
First, we'll learn Duplicate Stitch – one of my favorite embroidery techniques for knitters. You stitch right over your existing knit stitches to add color, detail, or a little decorative something extra, no colorwork required. It's so satisfying and easier than it looks, I promise!
As a bonus lesson, I'll also share a quick demonstration of Surface Crochet Chain Stitch – a quick and fun technique as an alternate way to add more texture and detail to your knitting.
Then you'll spend some time personalizing your pouch and making it truly one of a kind. The best finished object is one that feels like you.
Whether you've been knitting along all three days or you're just joining us now to finish things off, this session will walk you through every step.
Grab your pouch, your contrasting color yarn, and let's finish strong! 💪
