Knit Happy! Summit
I’m the designer and instructor behind Double the Stitches & the Stitch Society Membership, and I'm incredibly honored and thrilled that you're interested in speaking at the Knit Happy! Summit. I'm so excited to team up with you to create an incredible event!
I can't wait to tell you more about the Summit, and share how you can join me on this exciting adventure to create a high-value, unique event for knitters as we grow our businesses together.
The Knit Happy! Summit is a FREE 4-day virtual event happening from November 6th - 9th that will help passionate knitters discover the secrets top knitting instructors wish they knew when they started, along with a supportive community of fellow knitters! This event will help them expand their knitting skills, learn tips and tricks for taking on more advanced techniques, and become a happier, more confident knitter!
As a presenter, you'll share your talent & knowledge, growing your email list with like-minded knitters who are excited to learn more about you.
On this page, you’ll find resources meant to make speaking as easy as possible and answer any questions you have.
If you run into a question I didn’t answer, email me at Hello@DoubleTheStitches.com.
The Knit Happy! Summit is a virtual online-only event that will run from Thursday, November 6th - Sunday, November 9th.
Presentations will include 20 - 25 minutes of content (including up to a 3-minute freebie pitch). Presentations themselves will all be pre-recorded to make this a smooth and stress-free event.
Along with the presentations, there will be a Facebook group for attendees to have fun in, hold each other accountable, and ask questions.
There will be limited opportunities to participate in a Speaker Panel throughout the event to build excitement, connect with the attendees, and provide even more value.
Leading up to the summit, we’ll have 2 weeks of promotion. You’ll be provided with swipe copy and graphics to use for your emails and social media, to make it all easy for you! I'll even share a suggested posting and sending schedule.
Throughout the promotional period, during the summit and for one week following its conclusion, we will be highlighting the VIP Happy Knitters Toolkit.
The VIP Happy Knitter's Toolkit is where the magic of the summit happens. ✨ It provides immense value to our attendees with an upgraded summit experience, while making the work of promoting and creating a presentation worthwhile by allowing you to bring in affiliate commissions and grow your email list.
The Toolkit provides ongoing access to Replays and Presentation Guides with Lightbulb Moments (we'll create these for you!). It will also include a variety of bonuses, such as exclusive Knit Nights on Zoom, Knitting Pattern Bundles, eBooks, Workshops, Courses (big or small), Workbooks, Cheat Sheets, and more, all generously provided by our wonderful speakers as a way to grow your email list.
To keep the event accessible to as many attendees as possible, we'll also offer a simplified Extended Access Pass, allowing attendees to purchase ongoing access to the presentations (without all the bonuses) at a lower price point.
Last year, we sold hundreds of VIP Happy Knitter's Toolkits, and numerous speakers earned over $1,000 in commissions, with our highest earner reaching more than $9,000. 🤩
I would love for you to be next! 💕
"Thank you for an amazing experience. I appreciated how responsive you were. Everything ran beautifully!!!! It’s nice to work with someone who has it together!!
I loved the opportunity to share what I know with lots of people and to be able to answer their questions in the live talk. It was heartening to hear their feedback."
- Cynthia
"It was great to connect with a new audience and hear from so many knitters saying that I gave them the courage and motivation to give brioche a try!
I gained over 500 newsletter subscribers, over 100 youtube subscribers and over 50 instagram followers ... and a few sales off of my welcome email sequence.
I've also really enjoyed getting some of the new subscribers responding to my emails and telling me about their experiences with brioche and sharing the starts of their new projects."
- Jenn
"This was incredibly easy and pleasant. I hope you'll do it again next year!
My favorite part was the ease of creating and submitting materials, guaranteed payment for work submitted, the friendly community, and regular check-ins from Jessica.
My list grew by about 600 people that I could directly trace to the summit, and there were probably more who signed up after visiting my blog."
- Lauren
While summits are great for overall visibility, making new connections, and list-building ... some extra income never hurts!
That's exactly why I've set up an affiliate program where you'll earn a generous commission from all sales you refer to the event.
There is so much potential on how much you can earn when promoting the summit, but I want to ensure you feel comfortable putting in the effort for the summit so all speakers who provide their materials on time, by October 6th, will receive a Speaker Honorarium of $125 in addition to any commissions earned.
• 50% for all speakers on the VIP Happy Knitter's Toolkit and Extended Access Pass purchases that you refer
• 60% for all speakers who contribute a bonus to the VIP Happy Knitter's Toolkit
• In addition, you'll also earn a $10 commission on any Stitch Society Membership new sign-ups that come from your summit affiliate attendees after their first paid month in the membership. I'll mention this throughout the event and take care of all the work of promoting this to our attendees.
There will be 2 tiers of ongoing access passes available for attendees to purchase, so they can continue to enjoy & learn from presentations and watch anything they missed. You will earn commissions on both using your unique affiliate link:
VIP HAPPY KNITTER'S TOOLKIT:
Attendees will be offered a VIP Package that includes Ongoing Access to Presentations, Presentation Guides with Lightbulb Moments, a Ticket to our VIP-Only Knit Night on Zoom, and all the amazing Bonuses too! (we'll create the presentation guide for you)
• $47 for 20 minutes after initial registration
• $77 through November 5th
• $97 from November 6th through cart close on November 14th
EXTENDED ACCESS PASS:
Attendees who want a simpler and lower-cost upgrade option can upgrade their free ticket to the Extended Access Pass, and receive Ongoing Access to Presentations:
• $37 for 20 minutes after initial registration
• $57 through November 5th
• $77 from November 6th through cart close on November 14th
To make it as easy as possible for you to generate extra income, the Speaker Resource Vault will include things like email swipe copy, social media swipe copy, and social share graphics. However, you're always welcome to write your own copy, create your own graphics, and even run your own Facebook ads.
Just remember to use your own unique affiliate link, which you can create here or look up here.
Payouts for sales referred in November will be made by December 19th.
As with all affiliate promotions, be sure to disclose that you're an affiliate when sharing with your audience. I'll share some short disclaimer copy you can use.
My goal is to make everything simple, so we can all enjoy the event while providing incredible value to attendees & grow our businesses.
First, I'll ask for some basic information from you. We'll use this to finalize the Summit Registration Page and highlight you on our Speakers page. Once you let me know you're in, I'll send a form where you can easily share this information.
Next is your presentation! This is a pre-recorded video presentation where attendees can learn something valuable, feel encouraged, and have fun along the way.
The ideal presentation length is approximately 20 minutes total, but if you are teaching a technique, you are welcome to take the time needed to clearly demonstrate the skill. Please keep it to less than 30 minutes.
If you need help creating or naming your presentation, there are all kinds of tools available to you in the Ultimate Summit Speaker Handbook that I'll provide to you as a Speaker Gift.
Please structure your content in a way that allows attendees to walk away having really learned something of value, rather than a webinar format where they feel like they're missing something important. (we've all been there, right?)
You can pick from the following presentation formats, based on what works best for you & your topic:
• Slides
• You talking to the camera
• A demonstration of a technique (highly requested by our attendees)
• A mixture of these
You're welcome to use your presentation video however you'd like once the summit has ended.
Your presentation should include great, actionable content. Here's the suggested format:
• A quick introduction
• An overview of your topic
• Where people go wrong with your topic or what makes it frustrating for knitters
• Teaching section
• Specific tips or things to remember (with the goal of making their knitting time more joyful and successful)
• Up to a 3-minute freebie pitch (ideally something attendees can receive by signing up for your email list - this is the first way we will grow your audience)
• Include questions for attendees to answer in the Facebook Post for your Presentation to boost engagement
Presentations are due by Monday, October 6.
The VIP Happy Knitters Toolkit will be a value-packed addition to the presentations, available for attendees to purchase. To make it even more valuable and provide an additional way to collect attendee email addresses, we encourage you to offer a resource.
This includes things like:
• Knitting Pattern Bundles
• eBooks
• Workshops
• Courses (big or small)
• Workbooks
• How-To Guides
• Cheat Sheets
The Ultimate Summit Speaker Handbook can help you create a new high-value and attention-grabbing bonus if you don't already have something to include.
(Note: Last year I sold hundreds of VIP Happy Knitters Toolkits, so I do not recommend any type of 1:1 contribution or physical product. Digital deliverables work best for this, so you create the item once and it can be shared easily.)
While this isn't required, it's highly recommended that you contribute to the VIP Happy Knitters Toolkit. It's a great way to collect hundreds of additional email addresses (attendees will provide their information to claim your bonus) and it makes it easier to promote since your audience will want what you've included.
I'll also increase your affiliate commission to 60% as an extra thank you.
I'd love information about your bonus as soon as you're able to provide it, but it is not due until October 6th. You'll receive a questionnaire to fill out to make it easy.
Please note that attendees will be able to begin claiming resources as soon as I begin my preliminary promotion on October 18th.
Note: I'll start my preliminary promotion a few days before speakers begin promoting so I can work out any potential tech gremlins before giving you the thumbs up to promote to your audience.
The power of a virtual summit comes from a group of experts coming together for a single cause. The joint promotion that happens because of that is a huge benefit to everyone involved. I can't get any of our speakers results above what I'd do on my own if no one shares.
To ensure this event is beneficial to all, speakers are required to share the event with their audience during the promotion period (October 23 - November 6) with 1 email and 1 social media post. This is when you'll use your affiliate link.
The more you share the event, the more opportunities for you to earn commission. If you are able, I recommend sending at least 2 emails to your list & 2 posts on social media to help spread the word during the promotion period (from October 23 - November 6).
One email/post can be announcing that you’re a speaker and sharing your presentation topic, and the other can be a reminder to sign up.
I’ll share graphics and swipe copy to keep this simple for you and include inspiration for other promotions too if you'd like.
And last comes participation during the week of the event. Since we'll already have done the work of creating the presentations and extra resources, we'll be able to sit back and relax a bit.
The only requirement: Please check in to the attendee Facebook group 1–2 times per day during the live event to connect with attendees. Answer any questions they have, join the conversation, and feel free to share helpful resources, whether free or paid, that relate to your session.
Additionally, while not required, there are a few ways you can get more involved and make more connections with attendees:
• There will be a limited number of spots for speakers to join me for a LIVE 1-hour Speaker Panel on Zoom (these will be recorded for replay access). I will have a sign-up form so you can pick a topic you're most excited about and confirm your availability. It's a great opportunity to engage with your attendees and answer their questions. You're welcome to ask that they email you if the question is too involved for a quick on-the-spot answer.
• If you see a fellow presenter's post about the Summit on social media, give it a like, a share, or a comment to help with engagement and the algorithm. Sharing is caring ... the more knitters who know about our event, the more we can all grow! 🥰
• There will be a Knit Night on Zoom on Saturday evening during the Summit, and you are welcome to attend! It's a great opportunity for attendees to get to know you a little better in a relaxed environment. This will not be recorded, so we can all connect more authentically. Attendance is not required.
All the resources, swipe copy, and graphics I promised will be available soon!
They'll make it as easy as possible for you to promote the Knit Happy Summit to your audience and earn commissions on our VIP Happy Knitters Toolkit.
You'll find the following:
• Email swipe copy
• Social media swipe copy
• Graphics to use in your emails and posts
• Suggested Schedule for emails and posts
• Summit logo & branding information
(in case you'd like to create your own images or show off that you've been featured)
