Making Texture Pop:
Choosing Yarns for Best Results
Anne Hanson ⢠Bare Naked Wools
Watch Time: 36 minutes

Fabrics can be created with all types of texture definition, from subtle to eye-popping; some garments or accessories rely on softer, more subtle effects, while others demand very distinct and defined shapes.
It can be so disappointing when a yarn weâve fallen in love with doesnât produce the texture or hand we were hoping for.
Some issues you might encounter include
- Cables and bobbles that are flat and flabby or those that are too stiff and inflexible
- Ribbing that has ladderingâspaces between ribsâor too stiff and inflexible
- Knit/purl patterns that are indistinct and underwhelming
- Lace patterns that are undefined or messy
- Yarn texture or color that competes with the stitch pattern
In this class, Iâm going to pull apart this problem and talk about factors that make or break a good texture result, then introduce strategies for achieving your desired fabric.
